It’s been a while since we’ve walked all day long. We’ve had a month or so break from it while we were in the UK but we’re back at it full force and our feet hurt. Today we spent the majority of the day walking to the Montjuïc Castle, which is situated on a hill that overlooks Barcelona.

That walk was long but it was well worth it. We also had a chance to check out the National Museum and the Olympic Grounds on the way. Here’s a look at both…

Finally in the afternoon we made it up to the Montjuïc Castle, which in reality is a fortress. The fortress has served many purposes throughout history but it originally started as a light house/ watchtower in the early 1000’s. Here’s a look at the fortress and the amazing views of Barcelona…

After we were done with the fortress we headed back down to the city via a collection of more walking and trams. Once we made it back we made a ridiculously late lunch, it’s fair to say we’re on European time now. Then we took our Spanish level tests. Tomorrow is our first day of intensive Spanish classes!!

Now it’s time for bed, we have to be up early!

Happy Travels,
