The weather today was much better than yesterday, there were a few clouds in the ski but for the most part it was sunny. So we geared up again and made a second attempt at climbing to the ruins of the fortress located at the top of the Bay of Kotor.

It took us under an hour to make it to the top and the view was well worth it. Not to mention that it was good training for our upcoming Everest trip in February. Here’s a look at our hike and the views from the top…

After we hiked back down from the fortress we decided to head to one of the cafés that was open. Today was officially Orthodox Christmas so a lot of the shops and restaurants were closed. The locals have also been lighting off fireworks all day, it took us a while to figure out exactly what all the large explosions were. When we made it to the café we ordered ourselves some coffee and food as a reward for our hike. We soaked up the sunshine near the water while we ate.

Afterwards we headed back to our Airbnb to relax. Tomorrow we’re headed to a nearby town to explore and see what else Montenegro has to offer.

Happy Travels,
