At the top of our list today was to visit the town of Perast, a roughly twenty-five minute ride from where we’re staying in the Bay of Kotor. Perast has been at the top of the recommended places to see in Montenegro in everything we’ve read. Most of the recommendations are related to activities that you can partake in during the summer time. Since it’s winter there was far less to do but we still enjoyed our time.

After catching the bus to Perast we walked around town to see what was open. Honestly, not much was open partially because it was the day after Orthodox Christmas and also because we were there around 10:15 AM which was early by European standards. After walking around for about half an hour things started to open and we decided to have lunch at a waterside restaurant.

The restaurant was expensive for Montenegro but it was really good. We have also been cooking in for the last few days and staying at cheap lodging so we decided to splurge. We enjoyed tea and some great seafood dishes near the water…

From our lunch spot you could also see Our Lady of The Rocks Church, which was located on an island right near the town. We also had some great views of the town…

Throughout lunch we played Twenty Questions Disney Style. We had everything from what Disney character would you be?…to what do you think the next Disney movie will be about? It was apparent that Ryan and Brooke are both well versed in their Disney knowledge.

While we continued to discuss Disney we attempted to catch a bus back to our Airbnb. Unfortunately, we ran into a little trouble catching a bus because of the holiday. We had to wait an additional hour to get back, which really wasn’t too bad.

Now it’s time for working out and dinner.

Happy Travels,

Brooke, Ryan & Melissa
