Today we went on a tiger safari in Ranthambhore National Park. We had both an AM and a PM safari. Our AM safari started at 6:45 in the morning, so after waking up we grabbed some tea and gulped it down before running to meet our jeep. Thankfully our jeep picked us up at our hotel and provided blankets. It’s actually cold in India at the moment; a cold front came through right before we got here.

The jeep was open air and it was an entertaining experience driving down the road to the entrance to the park. After we made it to the park we headed out into zone one and started to look for tigers. We found some fresh tracks and heard a warning call from a monkey but we didn’t end up spotting a tiger. Our PM safari went about the same and we didn’t see a tiger. Even though we didn’t spot a tiger were did manage to see a lot of wildlife. We also enjoyed four-wheeling through the woods. Here’s a look at our tiger safari today…

We decided after making it back to the hotel in the afternoon that we wanted to book another AM safari tomorrow. Tomorrow our only item on the agenda was to drive to Jaipur, which takes about 3 hours. So an AM tiger safari was a great way to use our free time.

After booking our safari we had a quick chat with our tour company. While we’ve really enjoyed our guides and day trips, our hotel rooms have been a little underwhelming. When we booked our trip we were expecting better hotel rooms, so they helped us to cancel our current hotel reservations and we quickly booked new hotels through hotels.com. Our new hotels are the same price if not cheaper than what was originally booked and much better quality. Our tour company also refunded part of our hotel costs for the previous couple night, which we really appreciated.

Now that we have everything sorted we’re headed to dinner. Wish us luck on our AM safari tomorrow!

Happy Travels,
