Today we’re headed back to Beijing and we’re slightly excited about it. While it was interesting to see the ancient city of Pingyao, it wasn’t noticeably different from Beijing or Xi’an in anything other than size. Not to mention the western food options are limited or really non-existent.

So after waking up in the morning it was time for us to pack up. We had one more stop to visit before we made it to the train station, the Shaunglin Temple. This ancient Buddhist temple is roughly 1,500 years old and is renowned for it’s sculptures.

Now we’re hanging out at the Pingyao train station. Our train should be here in thirty minutes and then we’ll be on our way back to Beijing.
