Today was our second day of hiking and it took its toll. Not only did we hit a max altitude of 15,400 ft but it was a long day of hiking, a large portion of which in the pouring rain.

We were woken up at 5:30 AM to our crew shaking our tents and asking, “Buenos Dias, Coca Tea?”. We had a delicious breakfast after we were up and packed, shortly after we started our hike.

This morning we started around 13,000 ft and were set on climbing higher. Unfortunately, we had a few instances of altitude sickness but they seemed to resolve themselves after lunch. Add in a few minor injuries and pouring rain for the second half of the day, we made it to camp just after dark a little worse for the wear.

We’re all exhausted and about to pass out but first it’s time for dinner. In the mean time here’s a look at our really long day of hiking…
